saving picture files

i recently startes using win 2000 and when i right click
on any picture file on the net and try to save it to my
hard disk as a bmp file or art file it changes it to a
jpeg file and then it wont let me open it.
any suggestions would be great

Hi Ryan,

Pictures you find on the net are normally .jpg or .gif files. To try to
save one as a .bmp would require your browser to convert the pictures
file format, not something browsers are normally able to do.

The .art format you're playing with is probably a "special" format used
by AOHell, and you probably really don't want to be saving files to that
format.

Someone here might be able to help you if they knew what you wanted to
do with the files you're saving. For uploading to web pages, jpg or .gif
is fine. If you're looking to play image editor after grabbing them,
that's a different story. There are many free programs around to fool
with pictures, just let these people know what you want to accomplish.
