Can't save in JPEG

Might be a dumb question, but my computer won't save pictures in JPEG format.
It will only allow bitmap and ART format. Anyone know how to change
this???? Also what program should I use to open photos? Sorry not used to
windows 2000.
Any help would be greatly apperciated.

If you want to try a good freeare viewer, take a look at IrfanView:

http://www.irfanview.com/

During the install, it will allow you check the types of files you
want it to handle. Make sure the JPEG, .JPG and .GIF are checked,
at least. Then the system will associate those file extensions with
IfanView, so when you click on such files they will be viewed in
Irfan. Irfan will allow you to edit picture image files and Save them
in various formats as well.

It might help if you were to tell us what specific application, out of
hundreds of choices, you're using while trying to save these graphic files.
