Saving Photos to My Pictures

D

Dave

About a week ago, I began noticing that any .jpg or .bmp
photos I attempt to save to My pictures began appearing,
automatically, in my Display, Desktop photos. When I
attempt to find them in Windows, they are not there!
Never had this problem before. Any .jpg photos saved to
My Pictures were saved there only. I have gone through
everything I can think of, believing that there may have
been a setting done incorrectly-in Folder Options, in
Internet Options, Advanced, and NOTHING seems to work to
prevent anything saved to My Pictures from also appearing
as a Desktop Wallpaper. I am running Windows XP
Professional. Anyone out there that can perhaps help me,
or know what is wrong?
Thanks!

By design...all images saved in My Pictures will be
listed in the background list. If you do not wish the
images to be in the background list...move them to
a different folder.

I finally got tired of having all My Pictures listed automatically in the
background list, experimented a bit and got rid for good of this annoying
feature while keeping the original My Pictures folder (where I cycle
hundreds of pics). The main thing seems to be that, after eliminating this
annoying feature by experimentation, to never again use the Browse function
in selecting Desktops in Display Properties. I right-click the pic I want as
background, select Set as Desktop Background and it will be the only one of
My Pictures listed in addition to the original Windows list. Sorry, I don't
remember my experimenting steps but if I, an absolute non-pro, did it,
anybody can do it.
