Saving New Sites to Favorites

When I save new internet sites they have a unique icon associated with them.
This icon disappears and is replaced by the explorer icon after I run Scan
Disk and AdWare clean ups. How can I permanently save the original icon
associated to a specific web site.

Download a little programme called Favorg. You will see that XP isn't
mentioned in the OS versions but it works fine in XP.
Also when freeing up space under Start/Control Panel/Performance and
Maintenance/Free up space... don't tick the "Offline Webpages" item.
