I have windows 2000 small business and I would like save
all my setting on a external hard drive before I dump
everything then reload my OS. Those settings that I would
like to save would be in my Microsoft Outlook (Office XP),
Word (Office XP), Windows Media player 9, All those Window
service packs that were dowmloaded, McAfee Internet
Security settings as well. How can I move all my settings
to that external hard drive, can you guide me in this area?

if you can get a copy of Windows XP it has a "Files and Settings
Transfer Wizard" that can achieve what you're looking for. I think I've
tried running it in W2K and it worked OK

* These would be specific keys within the registry currentuser hive.

All those Window

* Depends on whether you chose the express of network download. If the
former then not possible.

McAfee Internet
| Security settings as well.
* Check the application's help file or web site for instructions on how to
export the settings to file.

Do you use roaming profiles? If so, make sure you copy the profile folder(s)
from the server before reloading your server OS. I presume that's what
you're trying to do, no? Re service packs, hotfixes, etc., you'll need to
reinstall them.
