saving documents in works

mtk

I have windows xp 2000 with word processing "WORKS"
When I save a document out from works the file extention
is .wps however no one using .doc WORD can open these
files. And when I manually resave my works document out
as a .doc works still adds it own file ending on every
document so again noone can open anything I send out. any
advise other than getting word;-)????

Word users should be able to open .wps files created in versions of Works
earlier than the Word version. But if this isn't working, save from Works in
RTF format. In some versions of Works I believe there is also an option to
save in Word 6.0 format. Changing the file extension doesn't change the file
format; you have to explicitly select a different file format in the Save As
dialog.
