Saving an Excel file causes one PC to hang

In fact all office files cause this issue on one PC - the machine is working
with Windows XP Pro and Excel 2000 SP3. I installed the latest office updates
and checked the version of Rdbss.sys which is recent but this is still
happening. There are mapped drives on the machine as there are on other
machines without this issue and I can use Windows explorer to navigate to any
folder on the network without issue.

Any ideas please?
