saving a trimmed clip

Hello. I'm working with v. 2.1.4026 on Win XP. I have captured video from
several soccer games. I'm trying to pull out certain plays and save them
into named collections (e.g., "high saves"). So, I start by putting the
clips from a game onto the time line. I trim the clip. Then I want to save
that trimmed clip into my "high saves" collection. I can't find a way to do
this. If I right click the clip and select "copy," and then try to "paste"
into the appropriate collection, there is no "paste" option. Neither can I
click and drag.

What I'd like to achieve is to have one final video that shows all of the
trimmed highlight collections.

it's a one way street from collections to the project timeline/storyboard.

to get it into the collections, you would need to save the movie and then
import it as a new clip
