Imported clips always become a new collection of just one each

I have SP3 and WMM is 2.1.4026.0
When importing multiple clips only one appears on the work panel so i can
drag to timeline.
Each clip appears as a collection of just one. I cannot drag any clip from
panel to add tp a collection.
I have to drag clips from Collection list into the time line one at a time.
I have tried AVI WMV MPG

Photo and Music do import as Collections should.

I have seen this problem on 2 other WMM forums

I guess you could call it a problem but that is
the way the program is designed.

But you should be able to manually drag/drop
all the clips into a single folder.

FWIW...in Vista Movie Maker the clips can
be imported into a single folder.

Thanks for quick response
But photos and music behave as I expected all into the current work pane and
collection.
I tested what you said and yes that works

Import clips and they become several collections
Start a new collection
click each imported collection and drag clip into wanted collection
delete the now empty collection

Phew what a mess
