Provide some details of how the images are
saved and how you are trying to access them.

What version of windows was your old computer
running?

Muisic and Pictures on a DVD? Was
this a Data disk or some type of Slide
Show Movie?

What exactly can you see on the disk?
What are the file extensions.

i wanted to back up all my music about 12 gb worth so i used 3 or 4 dvd disc.
i ve managed to get my music back on to the computer. on one of the disc, it
was mixed with the last of my music, so i backed up all my photos on to that
disc.now
i open the disc click on the picture file and see all default thumbs
icon(photos names are there) but when i double click on them no preview
message comes up. hope this gives you more information. im kicking myself
cause they were important photos of family events. (wish i did more backups
or stuck to cds)

Thank you for your explanation, however...
it does not help me to solve your problem.

Maybe you could discuss this with someone
in your local area? A friend with some computer
experience or possible a computer tech?
