"Save" problem on Windows Vista Home Basic

A

A. Chung

My home PC has 1GB RAM running under Windows Vista Home Basic, and has
Microsoft Office XP (2002) installed. I wonder why large files cannot be
saved by Microsoft Excel 2002. Any technical advice is highly appreciated.

Large is a relative term in computing. How large is large in this case?

When you try to save, do you get an error message? If so, what does it say?

If not, what exactly happens when you try to save?

If you're using only Home Basic, you should go back to XP. I'd use Home Premium instead.

Please help us to help you. What does "large files" mean? How large?
Put a number on it, please? What happens when you try? If you get an
error message, please quote it verbatim.

It's just a guess, but if the drive you are trying to save to is
FAT32, and the files are larger than 4GB, you're running into the
FAT32 maximum file size.
