Save only in untitled.bmp?

IE: Version 6.0

I have been experiencing this problem constantly where I
would try to save an image from the net (JPG or GIF) and
it will not save in the proper extension. I can only
save in untitled.bmp. I've checked the Knowledge Base
and neither of the causes is valid for my situation.
I've went into Internet Option/Advanced and check off the
appropriate option, but it still doesn't work. Can
someone please help me out here? Also, if I were to
reinstall IE6, how can I keep my Favorites? Thank you!!

That happens when the Temporary Internet Files are too full. In IE click
Tools | Internet Options. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet
files section of the General tab. On the nest window place a check mark in
the box to Delete all offline content.

You need to clear the temporary internet files.
