Save image on web as jpg (Windows XP)

How can I save an image on the web as jpg? I'm using
Windows XP and Verizon is my internet provider. The only
solution I find for this problem is usefull for AOL
users. Is there a way to change my internet settings
without beeing a user of AOL?
I would appreciate it if someone could help me with my
problem as fast as possible!

Hi are you experiencing the problem with Internet Explorer saving the images
as a .bmp?
