SAVE AS WEB PAGE hyperlink

I created a word document (e.g myhomepage.doc). Within that document I
created a hyperlink to another word document (e.g mylinkdocument.doc).
Within the hyperlink address I deleted all paths and had only
mylinkdocument.doc). I then did a SAVE AS WEB PAGE index.html

My index.html, and the link to mylinkdocument.doc are in the same folder.

I then copy that folder to another computer, and the link from index.html to
mylinkdocument.doc does not work! I do an edit hyperlink in index.html, and
it shows my address as with the previous path (e.g. C:mylinkdocument.doc).

My intent is to create a home page with internal computer links so I can
send this index.html and its respective links to another computer and click
all internal links from index.html and they work.

What am I doing wrong, and how do I do this right?

Thanks,

Steve

You set it up right--use relative hyperlinks and keep the docs in the
same folder. The "C:" is your problem. It sounds like Word changed your
links at some point?

try this-- in Tools>Options>General>Web Options, on the Files panel,
uncheck the "update links on save" box. You don't want Word to do
anything to your links.

Daiya,

Boy, this is where the word "esoteric" came from! Who knew.

Many thanks. Now works fine.

How do I do this in Word 2007? I want to create a document in Word 2007 and
then cut and paste it into a web page, but the links don't come over.
