save as - untitled format bmp

I am running XP Pro SP2 and suddenly I got the graphic bug when you want to
"save as" and get only "untitled" and the format is bmp and not jpg or any
other format.
I have tried the posted solutions and nothing worked. I know that you used
to have a repair to IE in the ADD/Remove programs section but that is gone
now. Is there a fix coming soon, or are we all doomed to save everything in a
BMP format.
I look forward to any assistance and a thank you for your time.

That happens when the Temporary Internet Files are too full. In IE click
Tools | Internet Options. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet
files section of the General tab. On the next window place a check mark in
the box to Delete all offline content.

What posted solutions have you tried?

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.

If the above fails, then try here:

The poasted suggestions, clear the TIF, has been done several times. I have
the cache set at 1100mb, so it never gets full to my knowledge. I'll try the
CCCleaner program and see if it helps.
Ran my anti sypware and NAV to see if I had any viruses or gremlins, and
found none.
I will write back to give you the results.
Thank you for your time

Thank you all for your time. I d/l cccleaner and ran it. I can't say for
sure, but I must have had corrupted temp files that didn't get removed
somehow. So far, things are back to normal. I can save a graphic as the
format it should be, not an "untitled.bmp."
I also dropped my cache to 110 Mb.
Now all we need is to have MS try to figure out what causes this and come up
with a fix. Maybe IE 7?
Again thank you all and have a great day.
