BMP & JPG

When I Rt Click and save a picture from an email or on the web it is always
saved as a "untitled" bitmap, with no option to change the file type. This
occurs even when friends send me JPGs and I Rt. Click to save and I KNOW it's
a JPEG and not a BMP. My computer didn't used to do this, It used to save
any picture using the name of the file and not "untitled". It also would
save the picture in whatever format it happened to be in and not a BMP every
time or would give me the option to save the file as a BMP or JPG.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
PS I'm using XP PRO - though I'm not one...
I have run both ad-aware and spybot, emptied my temp folder in internet
explorer, all cookies and followed the directions of these two knowledge base
articles

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;260650&Product=ie600

to no avail... and emptied all temp files I could find on my machine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

oops!!

This is usually caused by an overloaded TIF folder. Try this:

Internet Properties > General tab.

Click the "Delete Files" button, select "Delete all offline content" and OK.

Reboot.

Your problem should be solved.

Hi,
Try deleting the Temporary Internet Files folder. You will have to be logged
in as another user with admin privileges and may have to have "Show hidden
files and folders" checked in Folder Options> View.

It has been reported that clearing out the Cookies folder may help.
