Save and backup definitions

what is the difference between a fast save and an auto save? What is a
background save? Using Windows 2000 with Word 2003
 
If you go to Tools>Options - Save, then click the ? in the upper right
corner, the MS Word Help Options window will open. Click the Save Tab link &
everything on the Save Options page will be explained for you.
