I finally got my new Motherboard installed, Gigabyte = GA-7NNXP which
comes SATA ready, I only want to hook one SATA Raptor 10,000 rpm HD for my
O/S so i don't need the RAID function. This had Awards BIO's duo bio's,
I know it has something to do with the SATA set-up in the bio's that I'm not
setting up correctly, But when I try to install XP Home it get's past the
driver f-6 part and thats all ok. Then it ask if I want to install XP when
I select Enter it say's theres no HD, "please connect a HD" select f-3 to
restart.
When I start my pc it lists all the drives connected, includeing the
Raptor, The Raptor HD is the only drive connected when I try this also. If
someone has this set-up Please help me set-up the bio's...... Thank You.

Sorry about all the reposts, I don't know whats going on with that, this
new board has a dual network system built in and don't know how it works
either, It keeps telling me my sent messages are failing.
Back to the HD I have the HD connected as a back-up drive now and it works
fine, I installed the O/S onto the 80g IDE HD to make sure the board was
working ,,, But it still won't let me install the XP O/S on to the Raptor
there are 4 different settings in the BIO's for the SATA & Raid set-up, I
can take a photo of the BIO's page and post it If that would help?

I'm a little lost on what the entire problem is here, but I will try to
help the best I can. First, your SATA drive may or may not be supported
through Windows XP setup. In your BIOS, there should be a setting to
enable SATA, but do not enable SATA RAID. You may need to load the
drivers for your SATA chipset when it asks you to press F6. Which
version of XP are you installing? Is it XP Gold or XP SP1a?

Second, you will need to check in your Network Connections to make sure
that the two connections aren't bridged and the one you want to use is
set to default. If you continue to have problems, please post a follow
up with specific questions ;)
