Its that time of year time goes so slow,

To see your face to see your smile,

I stare and think about things I miss most,

The time you were born and I held you ever so close,

My heart is now broken in so many ways,

Lord how I miss those bygone days.



I stand at your grave the birds do sing,

The flowers they bloom then everything,

Reminds me of your loving ways,

Lord why did you have to take that away?

I miss you more each passing day,

I pray and pray to no avail,

I cry and cry all day long the pain I feel is ever so strong,

To hold you close just one more time,

And hear you say Dad everything’s fine,
