Since you provided no information, how can I help you? What distro is
the samba server running? Post your smb.conf file.

What do you mean by "recognize"?

1. Do you want XP to recognize the Samba Server as a Domain Controller
and be able to log into the domain?
....or...
2. Are you trying to connect to network shares attached to the machine
running Samba?

What is the exact error message? What have you already done to the XP
machine to make it recognize the Samba network server? There are things
that are required to be done, as documented.
