my xp professional computer thinks that I would like to
Safely Remove my usb printer, and it always has the
Safely Remove Hardware wizard ready to go in the
taskbar..pretty annoying, so how can I make that go
away..and I don't want to remove my printer

The "Safely Remove Hardware" icon is supposed to be in the task bar. You
use it to safely remove any hardware from your XP computer (hard drives,
printers, scanners, cameras, and so on). With some printers, you should even
use it when you intend to start up your computer with the printer turned off
(with these printers, turning them on after Windows is running will cause
the "Add new hardware" wizard to appear). If you don't use the "Safely
Remove Hardware" feature often, stop clicking on the icon and it will
eventually hide itself. If you really want to hide it yourself, right-click
on the task bar, select "Taskbar" and then "Customize." Where you see the
"Safely Remove Hardware" entry, click on "Hide when inactive" and select
"Always hide" instead. Of course, now you'll have to expand the taskbar
icons to see it again when you actually do want to safely remove hardware.
