safely remove hardware and digital camera

I just download some pictures from my Olympus C-740 ultra
zoom camera. I have done this a few times before. Then I
go to Safely remove hardware, and tell it to stop. It
usualy will stop and say it is now safe to remove
hardware. But today it is saying The device 'Generic
volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the
device again later. I have the folders closed, and have
already downloaded all the photos from the camera.
I also went to my computer "Removable Disk (G:) (Which
is my camera) and right clicked to bring up the context
menu. I clicked on eject and got the message Removable
disk (G:) is now in use. If you eject this disk now, you
may lose data in any open files. Before ejecting the
disk, make sure that all files are closed and no
multimedia files(such as mucic or video) are playing.

What should a do to remove my camera? Why isn't
the "Safely remove hardware" feature working?

I am running window xp home edition.

Thank you!
Tammie

The short answer is "Don't worry about it." Make sure that
your image files have been successfully transfered, then
go ahead and disconnect the camera, regardless of what the
"Safely Remove..." message says. Just don't disconnect
while a transfer is in progress and you'll be OK.
