Just holding down the key will cause it to repeat and gives
a better chance than "pecking."
 
Will also cause keyboard overflow error on many pc.

Hmmm, could be a useful flaw on very fast systems. POST stops with a stuck
key warning. Press a key to resume, press F8 and you're in.

Personally, I use the tapping or "pecking" method...

/safeboot option on the boot.ini tab. You will need to reverse it to boot
back to normal mode." This quote comes from a recent posting on the
"XP-General" MS-NG. I tried it and it worked. CGS
