I have a laptop and a TV both with the necessary outlet
(on my laptop) and inlet (S-Video in behind TV). I'm
watching a movie on my laptop, but I can't get the image
or sound to transfer to the TV. Any configuring
necessary? Thanks!

Make sure it goes into the right ports and you select the
right channel on the TV (eg AV1 etc).

For that sort of thing, I use RGB cables so I can't really
help!

U also need an audio cable from output of the puter to the input of TV.

Also, ensure that there is actually signal leaving your laptop on the
S-Video port (check you Display properties)
....and don't forget to read the manual ; )

The manual for the laptop might have some information about setting up
the S-video hardware.

Greetings --

If your laptop has the capability to display on a TV, the
instructions for doing so will be in the laptop's manual. (Someone
might have been willing to look up the information on the
manufacturer's web site for you, but you didn't bother providing the
make and model laptop. I'm afraid you'll have to help yourself.)
