S-Video to Composite as Second Monitor

I tried using the s-video from my AGP card to a TV monitor with a Radio Shack s-video
to composite passive connector. It worked for the BIOS screen and the W2000 startup
screen, but failed when W2000 brought up the login screen. It looks like I'm going to
have to get a two head AGP card and put up two SVGA monitors.

So, what's your question ??

Good question. :)

At most looking for a comment from anyone who's been down this road. More of a note
to anyone who might consider adding a second monitor. I had started a thread a few
weeks ago on two headed monitors. Lost the thread. Actually, in my case, a TV is
likely to be insufficient because the resolution is not as good as that of a VGA
monitor. It's tolerable, but I would need a fairly sharp image.

To my knowledge the S-video is only going to duplicate what is on the
main VGA output. It is not a separate system as you would use in a dual
monitor setup.

Duplication is fine. It looks like I need to find a agp card that has dual output. My
attempt to output svideo the Radio Shack s-video to composite isn't cutting it.

It appears that this is really a rather trivial matter. I discovered that there are
svga splitter cables that duplicate images.

Hello, Wayne: That is as it should be. WHAT happens AFTER
you get set up (past the log-in screen)? What happens
when you run an app? THAT is when it should again send
successfully the signal. However, you cannot get ALL the
functions of an AGP/VGA "second" monitor w/ the # of pins
in an S-video as a S/VGA cable w/ its pins. You won't get
the "dual-screen" mouse movement for example. But you
should be able to get basic video content. As another
person commented" "what's the question?"' to get TWO
monitors to function as designed, you have answered your
own question. If you have the slot, add a PCI card, that
way you won't have to toss your otherwise apparently well-
working AGP adapter card w/ only one 15-pin connector (or
whatever # it has). Thomas
