No, that's closer to your neck of the woods, ain't it? So you're saying

Hogwash. Every post contains the originating IP address in the header.

The MVP did not post anything that isn't easily viewable by anyone using
software that can read NNTP headers. This includes Outlook Express
(included for free with Windows) as well as many newsreaders. It's also
available on Google groups (ex:
http://groups-beta.google.com/group...neral/msg/d1ad914f7cfabf9f?dmode=source&hl=en).

It's not a violation of anything to post easily accessible public information.

Really you guys. I will stop using the logo. It was basically a joke for
kurttrail hall of shame. I know nothing really of computers and have not
misguided or answered any questions. Sorry for the misrepresentation.

I have no intention of removing the post as the headers for posts are
legitimate public information on that post and doing any form of reverse
lookup to resolve the host is again public information and use of public
tools.

What I would like is for you to stop attempting to pass yourself off as a
Microsoft MVP which you are obviously not.
You may not use that designation unless directly awarded it by Microsoft.
Misrepresentation of your self on the Internet may be an offence.

Don't go trying to blame me for your actions! And if you were sorry,
you would have dropped it as part of your apology post.

And that is just about as low as anyone has ever gotten on this Group!
Torgeir is about the most ethical netizen in this group, while you are a
fraud. If it was just a joke, you would have dropped it when you were
first caught, but you kept it up long past that.

If I were you, I'd just go away and hope nobody wants to see you pay for
your actions.

What about all the folks still using the MVP tag that were not
re-awarded this year? If they aren't on the list for 2005 doesn't that
mean they aren't current MVPs?

Steve

Yup.

And they are no longer using the MVP designation in their posts. Or
at least those that I am aware of are not.

If you have a specific instance you can cite then you can send it to
me via email or to Mike Brannigan if you would rather not post that
information back here.

Hi,

The CDO interface have for a while now added the poster's IP address
to the header.

From the header of Charles Moose's post:

X-WBNR-Posting-Host: 24.75.88.98

also this one shows up in Agent 2.0:

NNTP-Posting-Host: TK2MSFTNGXA03.phx.gbl 10.40.2.250

Thanks Ron.

Mostly curious here, but I don't see Kelly's name there. I also don't
see Carey Frisch's name listed. Is the list on the MS MVP site incomplete?
