runtime errors

I get a runtime error from Msft C++ saying that I am getting an
nusual" termination request when I try to download the updates for
TurboTax. The Intuit rep says this is a Microsoft problem, not theirs

I went to Microsoft and in their Windows XP accessibility group found
a "solution" for this error posted a few months ago. The solution is
to run SCANNOW, which searches for errors in Msft's dlls, and also ran
IEFIX. Neither of these has affected the problem. I also reinstalled
IE, to no avail. I have installed the latest Java.

I have seen many posts on this newsgroup assigning this problem to the
Google Toolbar, IE, different user profiles, and severall other kinds
of actions. In my case, it is trying to download updates for
TurboTax. Clearly this is some kind of problem that affects all kinds
of applications, but I haven't seen a solution which works for them
all.

Any ideas?

If you are updating thru TTax, try going to the website and see if the
updates are available as a downloadable file.

Thanks,

The best suggestion I have had so far.
