Runtime error & IE shuts down whenever page not found

Whenever I link to or enter a url to go to page that
doesn't exist or for some other reason won't work, I get
MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! and IE shuts
down.

In the past, I'd get a page not found message and browser
would remain open. Problem started about 3 weeks ago.

Any advice would be great.

installed?

Or this could be caused by another parasite. Try CWShredder, Ad-aware and
Spybot.
