C++ Runtime Error

When I go to certain web pages I get an error message that
states:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way. Please contact the applications
support team for more information.

When I click OK it shuts IE down.

Can anyone help me out?

Tony,
This could be a parasite problem. Try Ad-aware, Spybot and CWShredder.

Another possibility:
From Internet Options> Advanced, if you have Sun Java and Microsoft VM
(virtual machine) uncheck Sun Java.

THANKS!!!!!!!! I had reinstalled IE6, reinstalled SP4
(W2K) last resort was to reformat hard drive & reinstall
OS. REALLY happy this worked out!
