Runtime error "53"

Can you help. I have windows xp home edition and everytime I log onto my
name an message appears saying "ADPROT runtime error 53". I have located the
problem to the start up programs of system 32 but dont know how fix it. I
have already had one message saying error occurred and windows shut down, I
had to turn computer off at the power and come back on - since then this
message comes on every time I log in.
