Running same application concurrently

I have friends whose computer can run the same application e.g msn messenger
or online game login using 2 different account/username at the same time but
I can't using my laptop which is also running on XP. Pls advise how to
configure in order to do so.. Thanks!!
 
start/run, type:

hh %windir%\Help\taskbar.chm::/win_start_logoff_switchuser_howtoW.htm
