Running Rules on msgs sent to the Junk folder

Is there any way to make Rules work on items automatically sent to the junk
folder?

Although I don't want all junk mail deleted automatically, I want mail in
foreign character sets deleted. I've made a rule that deletes messages with
cyrillic subjects but it only runs when I force it to run on the junk folder.
Otherwise, it doesn't work. Yes, it is checked to be enabled.

Why can't blocked encodings and country emails just be automatically deleted
instead of going to the general junk folder where I need to review the emails?

No. Imagine if a spam just happened to trigger your Forward to my Boss
rule?

Because if it did that, you'd eventually complain because it caught a mail
you wanted. You might say no, but, I bet there's a message that would be
caught that you didn't expect...

I don't think you understood my question. Rules define which messages they
will act on. Obviously, they will only apply when the conditions for the rule
is met. Right now, Outlook 2007 does not allow you to apply rules to items
that are automatically moved by the junk filter to the junk folder. I want to
be able to apply rules to these messages the same as emails within any other
folder.

i.e. Rule looks for certain foreign character and then deletes the message.
I don't like to scan through 700 - 1000 spam messages every morning, but
since every once in a while, a customer email gets mixed in, I have to. If I
eliminate the foreign spam, that will save me a lot of time.

Err, no, I fully understood your question, I obviously wasn't verbose
enough.

There is no way to make rules automatically run against messages sent to the
Junk E-Mail Folder automatically. Obviously if a Rule moves the message
there, then rules are all fair game.

Maybe, someday, the developers will add a feature where you can apply
seperate rules to Junk E-mail, but not now.

Either turn off Junk E-Mail and build all the rules you need to block spam
(or invest in a third party spam program), or manually run the rule as
needed.

Well, I guess a third option would be to build a plug-in that regularly
scans the Junk E-Mail folder.

OK, Thanks. I didn't think there was a way around this in Outlook. BTW,
although 7 out of 8 of my computers are Windows, my Mac's mail program does
allow rules on items in the junk box. Big benefit. Good programs don't lock
the user out of making decisions. Let them decide.
