Running programs with limited user account

Carl

Hi

I've just upgraded my PC from W98 to XP.
I've created a number of limited user accounts but they
are unable to run any of the software from their account.
if i change them to administrator accounts then they can
run the programs.
Do I have to re-install the programs so that they can be
run from limited user accounts.

Regards

Carl

Just place or drag and drop the program to the all users\program folder. Right click your start button then click open all users and there is the programs folder there. If you click explore all users then you will see the file for programs under your own account and you can open it and the all users program folder at the same time and drag and drop the programs from one to the other. Good luck.

Limited users can run OE, IE, Word and other Office applications. They
can't necessarily run programs that don't install according to the XP
rules.

Post back with a more accurate description of your problem and I'll help
you fix up the apps that need tweaking.

Hi

Thanks for your responses but as I had a few hours spare!,
I went through my PC deleting most of the
games/applications previously installed and re-installed
those that were likely to be still required. Changed the
users accounts to limited and the programs worked OK.

Carl
