rundll32.exe will not close on shutdown

Hi,
Can anyone help with this.
WinXP professional, just started getting an error message
on shutdown or restart.
Basically rundll32.exe will not close automatically, but a
window appears saying it will not close, and giving option
to close or ignore. Ignoring does not help, but if closed
manually the PC shuts down or restarts as normal.
Never happened until last couple of shutdowns!
No new software or virusus on PC.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I had that problem and it was a bridge linking into my rundll file. Check
msconfig's startup tab and see if you have a bridge running. If so, this
site tells you how to delete it
