Hi folks,
Got a brand new Dell 4600, the first computer I've bought
in a decade, only to then spend hours on the Internet
without realizing that my firewall was not turned on.
Needless to say, adware and trojans had their way with
me.But I think I have things fairly cleaned up except for
two reoccurring problems. One, when I go to shut down, the
computer tells me it can not find rundll32.exe and ask me
whether I want to end now. If I don't click end now, it
won't shut down. If I do, the shut down completes itself.
No big deal, but I'd like to fix it if possible and wonder
if it may contribute to other problems in the future.
Also, the last time I ran a Norton scan, it came up with 20
items, all adware, that it suggested I remove. On the
deleate page, I selected them all, and hit next. It then
asks me whether I am sure I want to delate. I hit yes.
Then it brings me to the exclude screen. I've tried it two
ways from this point, one just hitting skip, the other not
selecting any of the files and hitting exclude to move on.
Both of these methods have successfully removed adware for
me in the past. But now, regardless of which I try, it
sends me to a screen that says not all threats have been
removed and under "files deleated" it says "0". How do I
get Norton to kill out these unwanted files? Any help
would be fantastic. Thanks! Greg
