Rundll error

Hi,
When I start up my PC I get an error come up on the screen that reads:

RUNDLL

Error loading cmicnfg.cpl

The specified module could not be found

I suspect that this error is stopping my sound card from working as the
sound card is enabled but says that it is not switched on.

Please help

Cmicnfg.cpl is a process belonging to C-Media based soundcards. It is
invoked at startup to configure the audio hardware's control panel applet.
You could try re-installing the software that came with the sound card.

Hi,
I have uninstalled and reistalled the sound card software, the device
manager says that it is ok, and is enabled but not swithed on.
The PCI Audio Device is switched on but C-Media WDM Audio interface
(system32\drivers\cmuda.sys) is not switched on and I can't find anywhere to
switch it on.
I am still getting the Cmicnfg.cpl error warning on start up.
This all started after reloading XP Professional on to my new drive (the old
one died) and loading all windows updates.
Does this mean I need to wipe the drive and start all over again? I hope not.
