"run" problems

When I use the run box to edit my registry (regedit), the
registry opens for 6-8 seconds and closes. Same deal
trying to use "msconfig", dxdiag" and all other
commands.. not enough time to make any changes before it
closes. Anyone know why this started happening out of
the blue?

Instead of running these programs out of the Run box, run
them from a Command Prompt so that you can see the
error messages before they disappear.
