Hello:
I'm having trouble making the necessary adjustments for an end user without
local Administrative control on a Windows XP Pro PC to perform basic
backup/restore operations with a SimpleTech external USB hard drive using
ArcSoft TotalMedia backup software, short of granting Administrative control
of the machine, which is practically implementable.
I've tried several possibilities [below] without success and am wondering if
there is a way to create an icon on the users desktop that will run the
ArcSoft backup software with Administrative privilege?
- Made end user a backup operator.
- Transferred ownership of directories to end user.
- Adjusted permissions to Modify on directories for end user.
- Adjusted Program Files and Registry settings associated with ArcSoft
software.
Any suggestions regarding option above or other solutions would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
