Rules working manually but not automatically

Hi,

I have a rule setup in Outlook 2003 whic quite simply puts emails from a
certain user into a specified folder. If I run the rule manually, I have no
problem at all, yet if I leave Outlook alone it doesnt seem to run the rule
automatically. Any ideas?

OK, here's what you do to fix the problem:

first consider how many rules you have, and are they going to be easy to
recreate. There's a function to export your current rules in the rules
wizzard. Just click on the options button on the top right of the wizzard,
you'll see the option to export. I simply exported to my desktop.

Then, when outlook is closed...click on START, RUN. Type "outlook
/cleanrules" (no quotes). Your rules will be wiped out, but importing them
back in from the desktop is a snap, and it will all work great!
