Rules stops responding, 2002, SP3

Duff

I have developed a situation since installing the Office XP SP3. I had
several rules that worked fine. Suddenly one email came that should have
been deleted by one of the rules. I checked the rules and this particular
rule was uncheck. I checked the rule to activate it again and ran it at that
time. It worked fine, until the next message arrived.

This rule was a specific email address that was to permenately delete upon
receipt. Every time I receive a new email associated with this rule outlook
locks up or stops responding requiring me to close the program and restart
it.

I have deleted all my rules and remade this particular rule. I have the same
problem. This all started shortly after applying the SP3 which there is no
unistall for as far as I've seen. (And according to the documentation.)

Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, is there work around or
fix?

I have run the detect and repair and gone as far as removing and
reinstalling Outlook. It appears that the SP3 applies itself automatically
once the program is reinstalled.

TIA,

Duff

Clear your Deleted Items folder and run scanpst.exe against your pst-file to
check it for errors. Activate the rule and try again.

Thanks Roady! Completed the suggested steps and so far so good. Will post
back if it is only a fluke that this sender has not sent anything the past
day.
THANKS AGAIN!
