Rules on two machines

I have Outlook 2003 on a network of 2 computers and share the PST file. How
can I set up rules for each computer? When I set up a rule I get the 'for
this machine only' option checked off so I uncheck it but the rule doesn't
work then. Do I have to have the same rules set on both machines? I tried
this before but thought this may have been the cause of getting multiple
messages of every incoming mail.

As far as I know, there's no good way to make this work. The rules contain
machine-specific information.
