Rules - Moving Mail with an Attachment

T

TeleTech

Hi.

I have been receiving tons of virus-infected e-mails which are caught by my
anti-virus software. The software changes the attachment into a .txt file
that explains what the original file was named and what virus it had.

Here is my question: How does one set a rule that can move an e-mail into
a different folder, based on the title of the attached file? All of the
attachments have filenames that begin with "Norton AntiVirus..."

To clarify, an e-mail that contains an infected attachment is caught by the
anti-virus software. The AV software changes the attachment to a .txt file
named "Norton AntiVirus ______" where the last part of the filename varies.
The e-mail should be moved to a folder, maybe even deleted, so my inbox is
not cluttered up with this virus-infected e-mail nonsense.

Thanks for your time.

Have you tried the condition "with specific words in the message body"?

Yes, in fact, I did. I neglected to mention that. That didn't work...

Thanks.

I have the same issue that I can't wrap my head around. How do I move or delete messages based on title/name of messages? With all the virus and spam out there, I think this would be a valuable fix. I have read elsewhere in the discussion groups that you cannot have move or delete mail based on attachment name :-
Anyone find a solution

I've tried this and it doesn't work. Any solutions - I am bombarded by these messages, too. I haven't found any way to move messages with an attachment named "Deleted Attachment.txt", nor can I view the attachment file name in the calendar view.

View a header of the messages - does it include the filename in the header?
if so, look for words in the header. this get most, but not all of the
messages.

Doesn't include the filename in the header.

There must be a filter or some field somewhere that indicates the attached document's file name??!!

Not one that is exposed in the rules wizard. You can use VBA or 3rd party
addins to look for filenames.
