Rules in Outlook 2003 - Exchange 2003

Hello everybody,

I have a rule (move the message to a folder, if some conditions are
completed).

This rule works fine when new message comes into the Inbox. When I want to
run this rule for the existing messages (in the inbox), it does not work.

What's the problem ? (I do not want to move manually all the messages ;) )

Thanks

Well, how do you mean it doesn't work? It gives you an error or the
messages you think will be moved simply aren't moved?

There is no error.

The message should move to a folder (the message meets all conditions and
the folder exists), but do not.

When the rule runs automatically ==> no problem
when the rule runs manually ==> nothing happens, the message stay in the
inbox !

Ok, I'd like you to try something.

Take one of the messages that was automatically moved successfully.
Move it back to the Inbox and do the Run Rules Now procedure.

Does it stay in the Inbox?

What is the full text of the rule? Please XXXX out any private information,
of course, but I'm curious what the full text is.

Apply this rule after the message arrives
from abc
and with 'text1' or 'text2' or 'text3' in the subject
and on this machine only
move it to folderx folder

Have you any idea ?

Thanks

Ok, stupid question. Are you actually in the Inbox when you go into Tools -
Rules and Alerts?

Hello,

Yes, the rule is created when in the inbox.

The problem appaers because of the from : When we use a DL, it takes the
name of the sender (belonging to this DL), one of the conditions was based
on the DL name !

So, the rule has been changed.

The question is : how to add a condition which specifies that from is a DL ?

Thanks

Where the From field is actually the DL itself? 'With specific words in the
sender's address'
