Rules have ceased to run correctly

I recently developed some rules for moving emails from selected senders to a
'Read Later' folder in my Inbox. This was working just fine for a few days
but now when I start Outlook, the rules do not run and if I try to make them
run, I get an error message that says 'one or more rules contains errors'.
When I look at them, they are all in red, and the problem is the same with
each of them - even though part of the rule was to move that email to the
'specified folder' named 'Read Later', that part of the rule has got lost -
there is no 'specified folder' selected. If I re-select that destination
folder, and run the rules again it works, but only until the next time
Outlook opens. I've also noticed that each rule also now has the condition
'on this machine only' - although I've never specified that. Where has it
picked that up from? Although I do use a PDA with Activesync, I've not got
email syncing 'switched on' at the moment. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
in advance.

Version of Outlook?
Type of mail account?
Is the "Read Later" folder in the same Mailbox or in a separate folder set
(pst-file)?

Roady - thanks for prompt response.

In response:
- Outlook 2003
- POP 3 mail accounts (several, some on our own hosted mail server and one
another company's own mail server)
- Yes, 'Read Later' folder is in the same Mailbox. Different people's
incoming mails go to different folders also in the same mailbox but those
different destination folders all similarly get 'lost' from the rule(s). The
behaviour seems to apply to all the rules regardless of the sender or the
email account I can try some tests to confirm that.
