Rules for Moving to a Folder

I have a rule set-up as follows

Apply this rule after the message arrive
with @xyz.com in the sender's addres
move it to the XYZ folde

When new mail arrives from this sender, a copy is placed in the XYZ folder. However, it leaves the original in the INBOX

I thought the MOVE would move it to XYZ and remove it from the INBOX. It appears it is acting more like a COPY than a MOVE

Do I have this set-up incorrectly?

Any insight would be appreciated

THANKS

Do you have more rules configured as well? Does it still happen after you
disable those?

If you have two rules for the INBOX one based on who sent it and to whom it was sent is it going to put it in both places

I would think that the order of the rules would determine where it goes

In other words, I want to process rule 1 and if it moves it to a folder, I don't care about the second rule being applied to the INBOX folder

It appears it is not working that way

Edit your rule and add "And Stop Processing More Rules" as an action on
the rule. That way the first rule the message matches will take effect
and no other rules will be run against that message.

Ben:

Thank you so much.

I did not know about the STOP processing option... guess I should have scrolled down.
