Rules and alerts

Hi

I'm running Outlook 2003 connected to exchange 5.5 in cached mode.
When I try to change my rules and alerts, outlook tells me I'm working
offline, even though I am connected to the exchange. Any one have any
suggestions has to make outlook recognise that i@m infact connected.
Email and all other functions seem to be working correctly.

Is File-> Work Offline deselected and does the Status Bar also say that you
are in on-line mode?

Is File-> Work Offline deselected and does the Status Bar also say that you
are in on-line mode?

The status bar says I am connected, everything other than rules and
alerts works as if i'm online.

Reset the rules by starting Outlook from the Run command;
Start-> Run; "path to Outlook.exe" /cleanrules

The /cleanrules switch will just wipe out your rules and not solve
your problem...I still have to see someone come up with a solution to
this...

Reset the rules by starting Outlook from the Run command;
Start-> Run; "path to Outlook.exe" /cleanrules

Yes, but bogus rules can prevent it from loading. Does it work when you
logon to another PC or when another user logs in onyour computer? Tried a
Detect and Repair already?

It's a user issue, not a machine issue as some users are ok in the
same machine. Yes, I've done a repair. Could this be an Exchange
issue? I've seen other posts abouth this but no solution...

Does it work when you logon on another computer?
Does it work when someone else logs on and configures your mailbox?
If both no you can ask your Exchange administrator to use the mdbvu32.exe
tool to manually remove the rules from your mailbox.

This has now been resolved, it only affected 1 mailbox, after restarting
exchange the problem simply disappeared.
