Rules and Alerts -- An object could not be found.

When I click create rule or go click the menu item rules and alerts I get the
following error message.
"The operation failed. An object could not be found."

Outlook 2003 SP2
There have been a few profile changes and renames. I am looking for how to
change things so that I am able to use rules again without losing
information. It seems profile related as I have already re-installed Office.

Thanks in advance.

nobody knows how to resolve this?
where to start? what files to delete? or replace?
nothing?

i have unsolvable problems... amazing.

finally figured it out...
start outlook once with the /cleanrules command line switch.
this worked for me..
