rule to move messages AFTER reading?

I want to move messages to a different folder after I have read the message.
I can only see how to make a rule to move it upon receipt.

Can I make a rule to move messages from certain people after being read?

thx,

woodsie

What version of Outlook? If 2007 then move the messages BEFORE they are
read, and use the Unread Messages folder in the Favorites Folder....you will
see the unread messages in their respective folders all in one place...

No, but why would you want that? Immediately move the message to the correct
destination and use Search Folders to construct a view in which you like to
read your (unread) messages.

Outlook 2003.

One of my users wants to save everything some people sent him after he read
them. I did set him up to move the incoming and see them as unread. He wasn't
quite happy with that so wanted the final answer.

Good to know, thanks for the responses!

No. Gordon's idea is a good one.

Or ask why he wasn't happy with that ;-)

I have a user with the same issue. He stores them in a separate *.pst foder,
which is not available from his smart phone. Therefore, he doesn't want them
moved upon arrival in the Inbox, only after he's read them. He then wants
them moved automatically, rather than having to move each one manually.

You explained the impossibility of this yourself already;
If he reads it on his mobile device, how is it to move to the pst-file
automatically?

When he gets back to Outlook on his desktop....
