Rule to filter BEFORE downloading

With Outlook Express there are rules to filter out e-mails one does not want
to download from the mailserver before actually downloading. This saves lots
of time downloading mails which are not mine in case of shared mailbox.

Switching to Outlook 2003, I have not been able to find ways to not download
mails which are not mine. Is it possible to do that with Outlook 2003? Is
it possible I paid for Outlook 2003 which has less usabilities than the free
Outlook Express?

BTW, I used to use rules like if mail is from a certain source, do not
download, & etc.

All the knowledgables out there please help!

Outlook doesn't have any rules that operate pre-download. The only way to
not download some items are to download all the headers then pick which
items you do want to download (very manual process). I'd recommend getting a
non-shared mailbox, if possible.
