rule runs even if folder is deleted - Outlook 2007

I have a rule that moves e-mail to a specific folder. I deleted the folder,
but did not change the rule. Now the rule still runs and puts those messages
in the folder, but because the folder is deleted I can see them. I do see
them in the 'Unread Mail' section. That is how I found this issue.

I am running OL 2007 on a domain with Exchange server.

Anyone elese see this? Is the problem on the exchange server?

did you empty the deleted folder so the folder is really deleted?
